View in upper right different from View in bottom status bar

Steps to reproduce

In sandbox, the view modes use a different icon for the same mode. Here both the pencil and openbook icons are being used for “reading mode”.

Could possibly be related to issues some are having here?

This is intentional. One is the state of the editor (status bar), the other is a button to go to another state.
