This update is nice! Well done Vankir.
I will add the widget to my stack, nice feature!
Something weird is happening with my Samsung phone. When I create a new task and I add a notification for tomorrow with a time, then it always bumps back to the date of today and 0.00 hour.
I also found a workaround for my snooze request: in the notification bar I can choose to make it give me a new notification on a later time.
Thanks for your feedback! Tags support is coming either in the end of this week or in the beginning of the next one. Not started yet notifications snoozing. Time is reset to 00:00 when you change date. I think it is inconvinient and I will fix it.
Hello Everyone!
I just came across this topic, hence sharing it here.
Task Board now supports a new field to enter the reminder property directly to tasks through its Add or Edit task modal.
Simply select the Obsi app option first in the below setting :
Thank you,@Vankir, for this amazing app to get push notifications and easily manage the tasks on phones.
Push notifications ! Nice
Can you setup something to replace Simple Mentions ?(GitHub - der-tobi/obsidian-simple-mention: Obsidian plugin for mentioning people)
Multi-user Obsidian is coming (but who knows what it will amount to) see here - Obsidian Roadmap - Obsidian By the description it seems like they will just add the ability for more than one person to edit a note at a time. Screen.Garden does that for me already. Anyway, I’d be surprised to see Obsidian get an Updates tab with
This is where your app will be super useful - you want to bring push notifications (or any instant messaging) between users in Obsidian !
The idea is simple. When I type @Secretary … I want her to get a notification in your app !
FYI: did you know about the 4 year old app in the AppStore called Obsi ?
It must be yours ! because it looks identical.
Please try to support Task Notes - GitHub - callumalpass/tasknotes: Task and time-tracking management with calendar integration for Obsidian as I need alot more than just one line to describe a task.
I notice Obsi depends on Obsidian to do the syncing, which I guess is obvious. Obsidian won’t sync if your iphone is off, I’m not sure if obsidian will sync unless if it is open, but not the app in focus.
This wrecks any reliable real time communication with Obsi unfortunately. The issue: you have to have your iphone on to get a push notification - which isn’t practical.
Reason: iOS limitation
You will get the notification, but not until you open Obsidian. So notifications will happen, but not in real time.
Hi @Tu2_atmanand ! As far as I understand you are developing Task Board? If so I would like to propose to cross reference our apps. Please let me know if you like the idea.
interesting request about push notifications although I don’t have an idea how to implement it yet
Yes @Vankir , its a plugin to manage complex projects in Obsidian and document the progress on the tasks as we complete them (this documenting feature is under development). I am trying to integrate the most essential features, as many as possible. Getting push notification is one of them. On desktop its easily possible through the Reminder plugin. But for phones, we are required to use external services/app. Since Obsi is doing a great job in handling this feature, I have implemented this.
I am open to hear, any new features or enhancements required to make this integration efficient. Your idea sounds great to me.
I am also active on Discord, for any discussions : tu2_9451
This workflow is possible using an external synching service, which will basically sync any edited file within a particular folder. I am right now using one such service, which syncs my whole vault folder on my Desktop and Phone. So the data will be always in sync, on multiple devices.
Now, coming to the feature of getting push notification. The external service you are using for this functionality, lets consider Obsi app here. The Obsi app will be required to run in the background all the time, so that it scans as soon as any file is updated by the synching service. This is possible on Android, but almost impossible on iPhone.
So, technically, for actual real-time collaboration either Obsidian should be running on both the devices all the time, to get real-time push notifications. And using plugins like Relay, it will be possible. Otherwise the only option remains is using a server, which will send the push notification to phones even if Obsidian or any other app is not running in the background. (I think relay plugin is also using a server.)
well, the syncing on relay or screen.garden will not happen when the iphone is off.
I know it doesn’t work like that with screen.garden as I have it.
You mean like if Obsidian app was opened and without closing the app, the phone was turned off? Maybe, then I think these plugins approach of synching won’t be so useful. Then the only efficient solution will be using a server.
An inefficient solution (which I have mentioned), which wont be battery friendly, is using an external Syncing service. For example, I am using Resilio Sync, I havent tried, if this service syncs, even if the phone is kept turned off, but I think it should (and yes its totally offline, so it only works in LAN). Then, Obsi now should run in background all the time to scan the files which has been modified (again on iPhone this is very difficult to run apps in background).
Also, just sharing, while working on integration with Notifian app, I have made Task Board cache to be used as a bridge for external services. So now, users can sync the Task Board cache and the external service can only read this cache file to get all the reminders user has created from the other device.

This app and widget is just what I needed! Is it possible to filter out cancelled tasks? Either in the inbox or with the global filter? I don’t know if many others cancel tasks rather than just delete them, but I do.
…Oh, and I just subscribed to premium. Where do we find the advanced controls for the widget?
Great app, thank you so much! I’d like to ask if it’s possible to reduce the line spacing of tasks in INBOX. Managing so many events isn’t easy. To support your work, I’ve purchased the full version of your very useful app ![]()
