Update Error when installing

What I’m trying to do

I recently tried updating my Obsidian to the latest version and ran into an error when installing the app. Halfway through the install I got this error. No matter what option I click I continue to get a failed install with no usable application.

Things I have tried

I have tried running as admin. I have tried REVO and had the same issue. I have tried restoring my system to an older backup and failed. I have tried older versions of Obsidian. I have tried moving to different install locations and removing all traces of Obsidian, including files and registry edits. I am not sure what else to do. I could not find any information on this issue online, and I’m hoping someone on here has seen this before. I have not been able to reinstall the app on my machine since the attempted update.

  • Your username MSENIB~1.NET – what does that mean? Are you running this user account through some kind of network account or something? I’m not familiar with that, but it would be relevant to mention any environment details you can think of.
