Remove properties I have added for testing (Version 1.6.9)
Firstly, am I misunderstanding the terminology. Does Unassign in the All Properties view take the property off all the notes, but leave it available to assign later.
If so then the things I tried (as below) were in vain, as I wanted to completely remove properties I had added and my only question would be …
Is there a ‘core’ way of deleting a property altogether without using a community plugin (e.g. Linter)?
Things I have tried
- As above, right clicking on the properties I had added and selecting “Unassign type”, didn’t work as it was greyed out for the new and all pre-existing properties
- Looking at types.json in the vault’s hidden folder, but its content did not match the current set of properties - some were missing
- Editing types.json to match the current set of properties made no difference, the ‘Unassign type’ link was still greyed out for all properties.
- I removed the property I wanted to get rid of using the Linter plugin and that worked (so is there a ‘core’ method?). I noted however that the entry remained in types.json (if that is significant)
- Finally, I can’t be sure whether the ‘greying out’ of the Unassign properties link started after I enabled Early Access Versions as I hadn’t tried to unassign properties until after enabling them.
