Unable to add YAML Front matter at the start of the note

I am unable to add YAML front matter at the start of the note. For me my note starts with a header that gets synced with the name of the note and I can not replace it without changing the name of the file. The docs on yaml at the help page does not seem to address the issue I am facing.

What you consider the first line is actually the file name. So go to the end, hit enter, and then start changing the contents of your file.
