Two different markdown characters for italics

Hi there, I am not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I love the new feature of automatically converting html to markdown when I copy and paste. However, I’ve noted that when you copy and paste a word in italics, Obsidian will automatically put underscores. But if you manually apply italics, Obsidian will automatically put asterisks.

I know that both characters are valid and won’t change the final result. But still, is there a possibility that Obsidian unifies the automatic use of markdown characters, be it asterisks or underscores?

Thanks and I wish you all a happy new year!

this is not a bug report. Moved it to help section.

I think both the underscores and asterisks are valid markdown syntax. As to which one is when might be due to a setting inside the plugin you are using or the converter you are using.
