Turning "Smart indent lists" and "Markdown syntax" doesn't work

I turned both off and restarted Obsidian. It still lists my number “1.” and “-” whenever I press space.

How to fix this?

Does escaping the lines (by using a backslash before the numbers and dashes) work for you?

\1. Item  
\2. Item  

\- Item  
\- Item

For numbered lists you actually need to escape the dot:

1\. Item  
2\. Item
1 Like

Yeah any button will do it
