Trying to reset forum/sync password requires the forgotten password

Once you’ve done the above, delete everything above this line.

Steps to reproduce

Follow the ‘reset password’ link on the sync or forum log in pages.
Enter password and click enter.
Receive reset email.
Follow link in email to reset password and arrive at page where the forgotten password is required to enter a new password,

Expected result

To have a web form where I can enter a new password (with confirmation) without needing the forgotten password.

Actual result

A form requiring the forgotten password to enter a new password.

I created a new log on to report this bug, but this doesn’t let me access my sync log on.

What is the Sync password login page?
Do you mean https://obsidian.md/account?
You are probably logged into your account, you need to log out to reset the password without typing in the existing one.

The forum software is separate, and not maintained by us, so we don’t take bug reports for it.
We are using Discourse.

Yes, that was the resolution, thanks.
In my defence this is the first time I’ve seen a web page with this behaviour.
I now have sync enabled, thank you.
I’ll try the same approach on the forum but that’s not a major concern as there’s no data at risk.
