To hide Markdown syntax in Live Preview so it doesn’t show formatting markers?

I’m looking for a way to make Obsidian’s Live Preview behave more like a true WYSIWYG editor, where Markdown formatting markers (**, _, headers, etc.) don’t visually appear and don’t cause cursor jumps while editing.

Right now in Live Preview, when the editor toggles between showing and hiding Markdown syntax, the lines shift and the cursor jumps — which makes continuous typing and reading really difficult. I just want to interact via hotkeys or formatting shortcuts and never see the raw syntax while writing.

Spot on. It might be worth revisiting how we use Markdown here; for many, the syntax is more of a hurdle than a help. What if we adopted a ‘seamless’ transition like Notion or Google Docs? That way, people get the speed of Markdown shortcuts but the ease of a standard visual editor when they go back to make changes.
