I’ve been in similar situation many times: I have my personal vault and then when I start in a new job, I create a separate vault for work stuff. I’ve written about it a bit more in Overlap between personal and work? - #9 by juhis . I’ll repeat some beats here.
I keep my work vault specific to that job: my daily and weekly notes, notes about projects, tasks, clients etc all live specifically in that note that I don’t sync outside my work devices because the stuff there is proprietary work information.
I don’t keep plugins or settings synced in any automated way. I run very few plugins in general and a lot of the ones I have for my personal vault I don’t need in my work vault. The ones I want in both, I manually install and configure.
Nothing substantial to knowledge lives (only) in my work vault. Every time I learn something new, I extract that to my personal notes in a way that removes all specific work information: I rewrite code examples to generic, simplified ones and process ideas into a form that are more universally applicable.
When I leave a job, I can destroy the work vault because there’s nothing there that I need (or can) take with me and it doesn’t bother me a bit because all the important things are in my main knowledge base.
