Tip: use a daily checklist in your daily note template

The only place to put this was in this category, so someone might want to move it if it belongs elsewhere.

I just realized that a new daily note will open prefilled with a checklist (or any template information) if I set that option. So basically I have a daily checklist, or regimen that is created every day when I open the program. It might be pretty basic to most users in this forum…but it was like a little bit of magic to me, since I didn’t even realize that was possible.

It is pretty basic, but it’s those little things that make software a joy to use, right? Thanks for sharing.

I use a monthly note for my “daily” journal, using Periodic Notes, and you made me consider adding a month review template of questions.

If you don’t mind, I renamed your topic, so it is more descriptive.

Yes, I totally agree that it is the little things (basic things) that make this program and text/markdown files really attractive and a joy!

No problem at all renaming my post for clarity. Is Periodic Notes a plugin? I’m still playing around with linking and figuring out different ways to manage all my list (of wich, I admittedly have way too many).

Another thing on my mind (a topic for a new post) is how to share information with others (probably outside the Obsidian “sphere”). For example, I have lists to manage a bunch of my work generally and I would like to share a simple list or note with another person (GDrive is very easy to share a doc or folder)…would publishing it or syncing (I’ve seen comments on how sync is not entirely stable), or even using GDrive as a storage/backup be viable options?

As I said, a post for another day…

For me, I have 3 checklists in my daily note are “nested” within the checklists in Remember the Milk on iOS. I like to reserve my “sitting at the computer” routine checklists for my daily note.
