The new version is so terrible

I can’t rearrange the item by customs any more because the plugin for rearranging can’t work!

I don’t understand this. Moved to help section.

Actually, I don’t understand why the developers haven’t added an official sorting feature. Up to now, item sorting is still limited to alphabetical or chronological order, with no support for user-defined sorting. As a result, users have to rely on plugins (like Bartender) to sort items. But the problem is, the latest update has rendered these plugins unusable, and all my previously customized item orders are now completely messed up. It’s so inconvenient!

How can I roll back to the previous version?

Complaints without explanation of the details, such as a bug report, go nowhere.

If it’s a 3rd party plugin that isn’t working, you may want to report the issue against the plugin’s github, or if the plugin is unmaintained, find an alternative plugin. A quick search shows that there are several plugins for manual sorting, several of which were last updated within the last two weeks

yep sorry guys. I found it maybe not the fault of new version.
I manage to roll back to the old version(1.5.3) , which the plugin worked well before, but it still can’t work this time.
But I found the UI is not so similar with before. So I change the language from Chinese to English. And then the plugin works again! I think there maybe something wrong with the Chinese language UI, because it’d broke the UI style and cause some exception.

Bartender is basically abandoned (2 years since the last update). Try the Manual sorting plugin instead.

Bookmarks allow custom sorting. In my layout suggestion bookmarks and files are both visible.

Thx. I tried Manual sorting , but it doesn’t work in the newest version(1.8.10)

Oh no. It DO matter with the new version.
When everything goes on well, a few minutes later, the ob auto updates to the new version even though I turn off the auto update option. And then it crash again.

That means, it goes on well in version 1.5.3, and crash in version 1.8.10
I’ve tried other plugins , such as manual sorting, which is told to go on well in ver 1.8.6 . But it fails again.

I think the problem is the UI framework. There are some minor differences in the left sidebar button layout between the two versions, and it is precisely these differences that have caused the issue. Allowing users to revert to the old version’s layout might help avoid this problem.
