Text search in graph view

Is there a way to do text search when you’re in graph view? If not, I’d like to suggest it.

For a while I used Vue (Visual Understanding Environment) out of Tufts University, where everything was on a mind map graph , and you could search for terms and they’d highlight for you.

When I look at a graph view in Obsidian, the display opens up a little differently each time, and I have to hunt and peck to find the node I’m looking for. A lot of wasted energy goes into that process.

I know a lot of people talk about graph view like it’s just bells and whistles, but I sometimes really want to look at a node and see what I’ve got linked to it, and unless I link everything to everything I can’t find that information by searching the notes alone.

If I could open up the graph view and search for “architectural scale,” for example (my current search this morning), and it highlighted those points or zoomed in or something, that would really make my life more efficient. And the more information I enter into Obsidian, the more the graph view will just be a mess of spiderwebs.

Thanks!

David

Currently, you’d need to search in the QuickSwitcher, open the note and the corresponding Local Graph.
