Steps to reproduce
- in settings,
- default location for new notes is “same folder as current file”
- new link format is absolute path in vault
- directly create a new note in the file browser. It works properly.
- but if the noes was created directly from a click of an internal link, Obsidian won’t obey the setting above. Here are the 2 bugs.
- Obsidian will display the text of internal link as “shortest path as possible”

- When I click the internal link which links no file, the new file Obsidian creates is displayed with [[absolute path|filename]]
Actual result
- When I click the internal link which links no file, the text of the new file Obsidian creates is displayed with [[filename]]
- when I move the file in the file browser, the text of the internal link is displayed with [[absolute path]], no filename
