Template insert works with date/time, but directly call out insert template modal doesnt'

ctrl+p > type template > insert template > select template VS alt+E > select template

Have {{date}} and {{time}} parsed correctly

See the image below, first quote group parsed by going through insert template command, second quote group parsed by call out template insert modal by press alt+e

Why the different parsing?
