Tags are counted multiple times in the same document

Steps to reproduce

Create a new note, use the same tag multiple times in the note.

Expected result

I expect to see the tag count increased by one, because one more document is tagged with it.

Actual result

The tag count is increased every time the tag is used.

Environment

  • Operating system: Arch Linux
  • Obsidian version: 0.9.3

Additional information

It is very counter-intuitive to me to see the tag count increase by one per usage of the tag. Working around this is easy, of course (just use the tag once), but I’d like to see a discussion, maybe I’m not alone in this.

I am not sure I agree with this. I am not sure what you expect is what everyone expects. Please, open a feature request.

I want to have repeated tags counted repeatedly, I like the current behavior.

Agreed.
I’ve never scattered tags through documents, so hadn’t thought about how Obsidian would count them if I did.

But if I ever did put a tag twice in a document it would be for a reason, and I’d want it counted.
Maybe header sections I wanted to tag individually.
