I am an instense user of spreadsheets (on mac Numbers) for PKM
I would like to migrate to Obsidian for a year now but i cannot because of a little tabulation problem :
i use tabulation (option+tab) in Numbers widely
to write and align my words as a table within a cell
as the exemple attached
I want to know if its possible to implement that option one day
if not, do you think i could make a plugin? i am not a dev but i am thinking to hire a dev to do that
my other resquest is a way to implement colors more easily
Allowing for tabs to be used that way would require a change in the markdown specification, which I don’t think will happen.
Have you considered using actual tables? These could be formatted to not show the border lines if need be.
Other than that, I’d strongly consider changing into a more logical coherent markup, which is inline with the markdown specification.
Colors are also something not native to markdown, so you could find some plugins partially helping you. But yet again, using some logical structure like highlights, fields if using Dataview, would make it easier to allow CSS to change the visual appearance of your structure.
thanks for your reply
i have thought about that option
but i have to edit over dozen of thousands of texts in cells : i cannot have the time for that unfortunately
the goal of that format is to make it more easy to read and to use the horizontal space (if i put in md i would have a long vertical format)
i will have a look at dataview, thanks
so fo you mean that i should find a system with dataview and change the appearance with CSS then?
