Y

Expected result

The table is editable.

Actual result

The table is not editable.

Environment

I am running on ChromeOS.

SYSTEM INFO:
Operating system: android 9 (Google coral)
Obsidian version: 1.5.12 (134)
API version: v1.5.12
Login status: not logged in
Live preview: on
Base theme: adapt to system
Community theme: none
Snippets enabled: 0
Restricted mode: off
Plugins installed: 1
Plugins enabled: 1
1: File Diff v1.1.1

Additional information

It is working fine for me on Android, both on my phone as well as on my chromebook.

In Settings | Editor …

Default editing mode: Live Preview ← THIS is the CRUCIAL setting for it to work.

table: original(example here with existing table but same procedure with new table)

Clicking into any cell when in editing mode … brings up …
+
@ bottom & @ far right to click on to add row/column
slider icon
to move row/column

table: bottom + clicked

table: 2 new rows added

PS:
Default editing mode: Live Preview
Personally I prefer and normally use Source View & only switch to Live Preview mode when I intend editing tables.

It’s strange, but today I was able to open the same file and edit the table by clicking on it. Yesterday, it was opened in “Live Preview” mode and clicking on it did nothing.

Thank you for your response.

It has occurred again. I am unsure of the cause.

I have no idea …

You could try …

I. quickly “deblocking” it by either …

Ctrl + w
Ctrl + Shift + t

OR

Ctrl + p

Typing … rel

… brings up … “Reload app without saving”

Click on it to relaunch Obsidian.

2. Create a NEW Vault

Although you don’t appear to have (m)any? plugins or themes that could cause a conflict, it might be worthwhile having a vault just for testing tables to exclude that possibility.

Good luck … let me know how it goes.

I tried restarting with “Reload app without saving” and using a new Vault, but the issue persists.

Sorry to hear that …

My Obsidian Android version is the regular 1.5.12.
I don’t have the latest 1.6.1 catalyst version.

You might want to do a “ctrl+f table” on …

… to see whether you can find any reported/solved issues and/or upcoming changes.

Let me know if you are able to find/solve this mysterious issue.
