Table rendered with very large gap to text above

Steps to reproduce

  • create a new vaulr (no plugins/themes/snippets)
  • add text
  • add table below the text

Expected result

The tabel is rendered belo the text with a (small) gap

Actual result

between the tabel and te test is a line brak rendered wihch hasn’t been typed in be me nor can i remove it. The gap between text and table is unesthetically large.

The reason seems to be that a line break is rendered after the text increasing the gap between text and table.

I don’t understand you. Please, attach a copy of a note where this happens.

That the mardown code caus it. Its is just a tetx folowed by a table.

When you're ready, delete this note and make the vault your own

I’ve also found out that the rendingis different for edit mode and reading mode. The edit mode renders the additional linebreak invcreasing the gap between table and text while the reading mode doesn’t:

The blank line is added/enforced by obsidian because the table needs a black line before it, otherwise it is not interpreted as table. I don’t see a bug here.

The additional padding in editing mode is have space for the handlebar that appear on hover.
