Obsidian Editor only supports indentation guides when 1 tab or 4 spaces are used. It’s a limitation of the current editor. There is an open FR about his.

MOD-edit: this post has been edited for clarity. Indentation Guides currently only support a space indentation of 4 spaces in Source mode and Live Preview. For other sizes (2 and 3), they appear broken. Reading view does support other tab sizes.
