Synch question

I am considering adding synch but want to understand it first. I have read the help information.

My situation is this. I currently am using two computers and my vault resides in my Synology Drive, which keeps the two devices synched.

  1. How does the synch service work on top of this?

  2. Is Obsidian synch necessary if I add iOS to the mix? How would I use it with my current arrangement?
