Sync a remote vault on another device (iPhone)

What I’m trying to do

  • Hello! I’m a brand new Obsidian user, and
  • am trying to set up Obsidian Sync on my iPhone.

Things I have tried

Terms I searched in the help docs and forum:

  • Sync a remote vault on another device (iPhone)
  • Sync a remote vault on another device
  • Sync a remote vault on iPhone
  • Sync on iPhone

Solutions I tried and what happened:

  • I was able to follow the instructions under “Set up Obsidian Sync for the first time,” and
  • I moved on to the next step “Sync a remote vault on another device,”
  • which instructs to select “Setup Obsidian Sync” on the mobile/tablet device. But
  • when I open the Obsidian app on my iPhone,
  • the options on the initial screen are “Create a vault” and “Use my existing vault”.
  • There is no option for “Setup Obsidian Sync”.

How should I proceed?

Do “Create”, then follow the instructions for setting it up from Settings. https://help.obsidian.md/sync/setup#Sync+your+vault+from+Obsidian+Settings
