Support Apple Intelligence (writing tools) on desktop

Having same issues here, does not show up with right click, is in the edit menu in the menu bar but is still grayed out.

Hope this gets resolved soon, would love to be able to use this feature in Obsidian

Same problem here, I can find it on edit/writing tools but everything is grayed out. Any idea why? I wish the option was available on right click. Also, does anyone know why Apple Translate doesn’t work with obsidian desktop?

Also the same here. I thought maybe switching from Reading view to Edit/Source Mode might help…nope, all the options under the menu Edit/Writing Tools are still greyed out (with and without text highlighted first).

January 2025, Apple Intelligence writing tools still not working in obsidian. It works in all,ost every other app. Why does it take so long? It’s not available in the right click menu; it’s grayed out in the Edit toolbar.

We are waiting for upstream implementation in electron.

Try to go edit → Writing Tools instead of right click on the texts

yes! it works for me too from the edit menu

but once the generation is completed clicking on replace button doesn’t work, you have to copy and paste

The options are greyed out for me.

If you are still waiting for the better workflow, you can create a keyboard shortcut so you can open Writing Tools without leaving the Obsidian.

The couple existing limitation are replace/insert do not work. So you need to copy then paste.

In app PDF, CMD-A do not work so if you want to feed all content, you need to mouse drag select or open it in external PDF reading app.
