Strange Issue With Notes Inheriting Things Like Tags and CSSClasses

Within the past few days I have noticed Obsidian displaying some odd behavior. Basically any note I create and add CSSClasses to, or tags, or other metadata, those properties end up getting copied to other notes within my vault, at times overwriting what I already had set. It almost seems as though properties I set on other pages are reflected back to my Obsidian Homepage, made with the plugin of the same name

Here is a video to hopefully elucidate my issue a little better, as it’s kind of confusing for me to describe.

I have tried disabling many, but not all of my plugins (something I should do today) as well as custom CSS snippets. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

hi

send your debug info (command palette > show debug info) and show us your installed plugins please

In addition to the debug info mentioned above, the troubleshooting steps are here to go through.

It looks like there are a lot of community plugins installed in that vault. I would try turning half OFF, restarting, and checking the behavior. If the issue is still there, try turning the other half OFF. Rinse and repeat. Hopefully you can narrow down the culprit(s).

i just watched video…
so it is not just a case of properties not refreshing to show the data related to the file just switched to?
this was an issue of months ago – probably dealt with around 1.5.8 version (i cannot check now)

questions:
what version of obsidian are you on now?
did you check the other notes’ content in source mode (so you can see YAML block)?

as for whole or large contents of one file to be copied to another file happened to me (just lately as well) and i went on to uninstall the plugin i thought could be the culprit (i found some good successor anyway)

so it’s better to not install a lot of plugins and keep on top of all (core app and 3rd party plugin) versions
