Stop underlines from disappearing in markdown reader

I have tried commenting out the sections where I need underlines to appear but then I realized that just makes the entire comment not visible in the reader. I’m honestly not really sure what else to try.

I’m trying to take notes with underlines in them but they disappear as a part of the markdown functionality. Specifically I’m trying to make a list of usernames that have underlines in them in a table but I want the underlines to be visible.

Put a backslash before Markdown characters to make them not Markdown.
