Source & Preview in Separate Windows, i.e. the old way, for math

If I’m doing a lot of LaTeX work in Obsidian, it can help to have the source on the left and the preview on the right.

How do I do this?

Things I have tried

I’ve tried adjusting the live preview / source / editing view / reading view settings. That has not helped.

I’ve looked at the Obsidian help. It doesn’t seem to even mention seeing both the source and the preview at the same time.

What next?

One way to do it is hold Ctrl/Cmd and click the book/pen icon. This will create a linked tab. Then switch one tab to Source mode.
