Some words only partially selected on double-click

Steps to reproduce

  1. Copy text. I came across this using the text:
The swords is the suit of intelligence, logic, truth, ambition, conflict and communication. It is associated with the element of air. In readings, these cards focus on the faculty and power of intellect, which like the swords themselves, are double-edged.
  1. Paste it into a note.
  2. Start selecting words by double-clicking on them.

Y

Expected result

Every word is selected as you would expect: whole.

Actual result

Some words (e.g. intelligence) is only partially selected, as if it was detected as multiple words. See video below to understand this.

Additional information

I opened the raw MD as well to see if it was a paste issue - it’s not, the file looks as you’d expect.

The issue also doesn’t go away by just reopening the tab.

The issue is also present if I enable Source mode.

You’ll see by selecting the same words from here -in-browser- that there is nothing special about them: no weird characters or such.

See video of this behavior.

Nope. There are weird unicode characters in there, probably coming from where you copied the text.

What the ;_; I guess the editor I opened them in thought they weren’t that weird.

Well, apologies folks.
