I just got a TCL Nxtpaper 11+ tablet with the stylus and an using the wire text in any field feature of Gboard and it works pretty well with just a couple of annoyances.
- It lets you enter a return by swiping down and left. This does enter a return but it does not do the extra logic from obsidian. For example, if you were entering a bullet item it doesn’t start the new line as a bullet. You can hit the return button on the Gboard toolbar and that does work as expected.
- When in this mode you do not get an on screen keyboard, you just get a toolbar. That toolbar can be either horizontal or vertical and can be anchored to the bottom of the screen or floating. The issue is with the row of buttons that normally go above the keyboard for easily selecting markdown. When that row of buttons doesn’t fit the width of the screen (e.g. in portrait mode) that row is not scrollable unless the toolbar is anchored to the bottom o of the screen so you can’t get to the right part of the button list
