Minor documentation issue.
Slides - Obsidian Help mentions 2 ways to start slide presentations.
Neither of them (file menu or command palette) work if the Slide option on the Core Plugins page is not enabled. A reference on this setting is recommended.
Do you have another slides community plugin installed?
Nope. And the slides option showed up (file & tab) as soon as I enabled the core setting. Just a documentation issue.
I donāt see the menu item or command if the plugin is disabled. Your second reply makes it sound like you donāt either.
Are you saying if you disable the plugin, you still see the commands?
Or are you simply saying the menu and command do not even appear at all, until the plugin is enabled, and that is what you want mentioned in the docs?
^I think itās this.
If you start here,
it says:
Some core plugins are disabled by default. You can enable them under Settings ā Core plugins .
I donāt think each core plugin page should include an āenable this plugin for it to workā section, but maybe a backlink to the quote above to make it 100% clear?
ok yeah seems that way. By ādonāt workā, I imagined they were visible, but not functioning. Which is why I suspected another plugin was adding them.
I like your suggestion of a backlink, which would send them to more context about plugins in general.
With āDonāt workā, I meant that the Start Presentation option is not shown, IF the Core Plugin option is disabled! The documentation of the Slides function does not point this out or even mentions that the functionality described requires the Core switch. I donāt see this as a ābacklinkā but as āincomplete documentationā. imho
If a Core plugin is disabled, itās not going to function, show its commands in the command palette, etc.
In any event, you can submit corrections and improvements to the documentation here:
