+1 to make sure that this stays a relevant idea. So much functionality would come out of a simple toggle or change

I just ran into this while migrating to Obsidian. The only way to do this is to turn all these tags into notes and link them together, which leaves the sidebar with folders very overloaded with notes. This needs to be fixed; it would help me a lot to find nearby connections directly from the note using the local graph pinned to the sidebar. It seems like a bug that just needs to be fixed; it’s not something new… 
+1 - Like so many others, I would really benefit from such functionality (as long as it can be toggled).
More specifically, I would like to be able to show a local graph of the tag itself. However, selecting one note linked to the tag would be an acceptable workaround.
