Show a Journal with most recent at top

Would have thought this topic had been discussed to death, since I have a hunch Obsidian is one of the best journalling tools out there?! Nonetheless, I am working on a journal that I’d like to enter daily without having to scroll waaay down; let’s say it’s a historical journal starting with Ivan the Terrible and ending with Putin.

So basically I’m inheriting this journal, which has Putin at the bottom, but I want to flip it so he’s at the top and I can put his successor above him.

Does Obsidian have any way to do this? Let’s say each ruler (Kruschev, Stalin, etc.) had their own ## tag. Can I “flip” the whole list? Or, perhaps decompose the whole journal to an Anki-like deck of flash cards, which I could then rearrange by a date or date range (1953-1970)?

Or maybe Anki is better suited for journaling in general? Maybe there’s an Anki plugin to import Anki decks into Obsidian?

Have pity on a noob, I like Obsidian a lot but just beginning the learning “roller coaster”.

I use obsidian primarily for my daily journaling and can attest it is a brilliant journaling app. The sidebar can be sorted in a few different ways including the way I think you’re looking for. If you name your journals YYYY-MM-DD then you can sort the list alphabetically and it’ll go in order from oldest to newest, or Z-A sorting to get newer ones on top. Additionally if you’re making these journals in chronological order you might like to sort them by modified/created date and that can go in either order as well. Hope this helps!
