Should sub list block embeds work with + signs?

I searched the forum and tried other symbols that work to create lists, such as the asterisk and they worked fine.

What I’m trying to do

I am trying to figure out whether the + symbol is safe to use for lists. It works to get proper visual preview, but fails to allow sub list block embeds to work properly.

It is no big deal, I just have a lot of old notes that I am getting thrown off by because in Live Preview they work fine, but the sub lists are not showing when I block reference the parent bullet.

According to the original Markdown spec, “+” should work the same as the others. The behavior you’re seeing sounds like a bug to me, but I don’t know for sure what the devs intended.
