does such a shortcut exist? can one modify the existing shortcuts somewhere in the “code-files”?
I can only find open link under cursor in NEW pane.

Alt + Enter works for me.
Also, single-clicking the link works.
Hmm. Alt + Enter does not work for me.
The click-method works, but the reason behind this post is that I would like not to click when possible, because I try to do most of what I want to do on my keyboard.
