Is there a way to force shift+click to always open a new pane?
What I’ve noticed is that if I shift+click an internal link whilst in preview mode, it will open a new pane displaying that page. However, if I’m in edit mode then shift+click opens that page for editing on the pane I was using.
I was hoping there was a way to force shift+click to always open in a new pane. Is this possible?

If you pin down the edit window, it will open it in a new pane.

Yeah, it can be confusing opening links. There is a command+hotkey for Open link under cursor in new pane
that works in edit mode. Using the mouse, ctrl+shift+click
will open a link in a new pane.
