Hi, the past two years I have been using daily-note frontmatter to time-keep habits such as studying, doing chores, and learning languages. I’m a fan of heatmaps but consider them to be not perfectly engaging in the short-term. Also, I use Duolingo daily for Chinese and Hungarian and enjoy the way it is centered around keeping your streak alive. Therefore, during rainy days in the past weeks I committed to create a plugin that mimics Duolingo’s features to make my process in Obsidian more engaging.
It shows your streaks directly next to your properties or within a customisable streak widget for your vault. I use Obsidian even more on mobile than Desktop, so it’s mobile friendly. I added
- Custom streak types ‘multi’ and ‘mono’ can include multiple properties at once, or allow certain property types to receive distinct remark messages, respectively.
- Streak Freezes that can optionally be earned to save your streak for one day
- Motivational remark messages for milestones-, freeze uses-, and status (see second image) appear on various occasions next to the property flame on Desktop
- Streak widget that displays selected streaks
- Fully frontmatter based and offline
If you also happen to use frontmatter habit-tracking I hope it could be helpful.
This is my first time publishing a plugin, so I would be thankful for any remarks or recommendations ![]()
