Settings not saving (OSX, O 0.6.7, iCloud Drive)

Steps to reproduce

  • Start Obsidian
  • Start settings via cog symbol
  • Change a setting such as the theme
  • Close Obsidian
  • Open Obsidian again

Expected result

  • Setting should be saved

Actual result

  • Settings are not being saved

Environment

  • Operating system: OSX Mojave, 10.14.16
  • Obsidian version: 0.6.7
  • Using custom CSS: no
  • Sync folder: iCloud Drive

Additional information

  • Obsidian creates lots of config ## files in the .obsidian folder
  • See my video where I tail the log and observe the .obsidian folder

I am not on Mac/ICloud. That being said, I am not sure it’s obsidian who creates the files but iCloud.

  1. What happens if turn off iclould?
  2. Do you have obsidian open in another computer?
  3. What happens if you move the obsidian vault outside of icloud? Do you still see the generation of these files?

I moved the vault from iCloud to Dropbox and have not had problems since. iCloud was also very slow in syncing. Seems like iCloud is not a good service for lots of markdown files.
