Selecting text near top/bottom of screen to scroll is buggy

Steps to reproduce

  1. Select any text (On mobile)
  2. Drag the “Selection Handles” to the top or bottom of the screen.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes.

Expected result

The document gradually scrolls up/down, allowing me to select text farther up/down, like how any other app works.

Actual result

The outcome varies depending on if you scroll to the top or bottom. And if you’re in editing or reading mode.

  • Scrolling Up - Editing Mode: It scrolls up a tiny bit, but then stops scrolling entirely.
  • Scrolling Down - Editing Mode: It randomly (most of the time) stops scrolling once you move your finger over the toolbar or keyboard. Attempting to keep your finger just above the toolbar seems to make it scroll a bit more than usual, but it eventually stops again anyway.
  • Scrolling Up - Reading Mode: It suddenly snaps to the top of the document, freezes the app, then crashes. Sometimes (Very rarely) also gives a popup asking to “Uninstall WebView updates” after the crash. (Doing so does not prevent the crash or any of these bugs).
  • Scrolling Down - Reading Mode: It suddenly snaps to the bottom of the document.
