Over the last few months I’ve been working on a personal project: a companion app and an Obsidian plugin that create native notifications on Android devices directly from your notes. (If everything goes well, I plan to bring support to iPhone as well.)
The plugin does not scan your vault. It only sends the line you choose and the note title to the companion app. From there, it automatically creates true native notifications on your phone — meaning you don’t need to keep Obsidian or any other app open to receive them.
I’ve also built a small backend that enables optional email notifications, and I recently added location-based notifications too.
I’m now looking for a few testers to try the whole setup and share any feedback you might have.
If you’re interested, I would really appreciate your help!
Hi digitaldoctors,
Thanks for the interest, yes the app works as an inbox for your notifications but just that, it’s just a dashboard to check the notifications you have set in obsidian, and you can delete it but nothing more. Is specially designed to be 0 friction, fast to set notifications and return back to obsidion in a couple of seconds. This is not a to do app that you need to manage appart of obsidian. Obsidian is the to do app by itself, the Notelert app and the plugin is just bringing the layer of notifications to it.
