Steps to reproduce

Create a bullet point list that is multiple roles deep

  • Placeholder Text
  • Placeholder Text
    • Item to Fold
      • Term I’m Searching for
      • Placeholder Text
  • Placeholder Text
  • Placeholder Text

Then fold the list so that it closes. Then do CTRL-F and search for “Term I’m Searching for”

Expected result

I expect search to unfold the list and reveal the highlighted term that I’m search for

Actual result

It doesn’t register that the term is in the note

Environment

  • Operating system: Windows
  • Obsidian version: 12.12

It does register that the term is in the note. It doesn’t unfold it.

Anyway, thanks. I am surprised nobody reported this before.
Sometimes users report every little thing. This is pretty important, it’s the first time I see it.

Poor wording. If I unfold the note it will show it highlighted but I don’t see any indication on the screen that it exists in the note in the first place besides if there isn’t a match it goes red (just noticed that).

Same issues happens for me. It also happens for folded headings (H1, H2, etc.).

The search bar does not turn red, to indicate that the string was found, but it also does not indicate where the string was found.
