Saving workspace should save graph view settings and state

Currently, the graph view settings are not saved as part of the workspace.

For example, when working on a topic I liked to have the graph view filtered to a certain tag.

I think it would make sense for this to be saved along with other workspace specific things.

Has been requested here (https://forum.obsidian.md/t/workspaces-don-t-remember-filtering-options-in-graph-view), too, but has not yet been adressed. I consider this an important part of working effectively. A statement from the developers would be nice.

Use case or problem

  • Use Case: I use different workspaces (among other use cases) for different thematic settings (settings with regard to different contents), e.g. one workspace for Marx’ Critique of Political Economy and one for Zen Buddhism. I need different notes opened and different filter settings for each of the thematic settings (in my case: a different filter for tags).
  • Problem: When switching to another thematic setting (workspace) the filtering options of the graph view do not adjust, too (even when having set different filtering options while saving the actual workspace).

Proposed solution

The Workspace saves the filtering options of the graph view.

Current workaround

  • When saving a workspace the filtering options of the graph view have to be saved within the workspace.
  • When switching the workspace the filtering options of the graph view have to be loaded simultaneously.

Is this a bug or feature request?

Is there any planning on implementing this? When working with different thematic fields of work it would be very helpful to have the filtering options for the graph view saved with the workspace.

@admins, should we combine this feature with the similar feature on saving graph settings with a workspace?
