For the backlinks pane or the toggle backlinks area at the bottom of a page, does
anyone know if its possible for the search filter (in the backlinks view) to access saved searches or have a default search value eg path:"My Slipbox"

If not then would be a great feature to reduce the friction of searching within a specific folder and I’ll raise it as a feature request.

I don’t think it is, but you could (for example) embed a normal search at the bottom of the page. To make it a backlink search, just include the name of the note in double brackets.

```query
"[[Note name]]" path: "Pathname"
```

I don’t know for sure if you need quotes around the double brackets for note names with spaces.
