Revoking access to remote vault by changing vault's password

What I’m trying to do

I am developing an RPG using Obsidian. I had a Co-Writer helping me write out the story and all the branching paths the Player can take in the game, but I recently had to let him go due to irrelevant reasons. I do not want him to continue having access to that shared remote vault.

Things I have tried

I removed his email from the shared vault via the “Managed Sharing” button. And so I am wondering if that alone is enough for him to no longer have access to the shared remote vault? Or do I need to change my vault’s password? Because he still has the remote vault’s password.

Removing his email from Managed Sharing should stop future access to the shared remote vault. But it won’t delete anything that already synced to his local device, so if he had access before, assume he may still have a local copy.
