Resuming a search from current cursor position

How can I resume a search from the cursor position in the current document?

Use case and problem:

  • Start searching for a search term.
  • Once locating the desired part of the document, make an edit.
  • Hit cmd-F again. The previous search term has been erased, requiring it to be typed again, the search begins from the beginning or top of the document, and one must step through the file to get to the next desired matching location.

Normal editors use cmd-G for “next”. After starting a find and editing the document, cmd-G will use the same search term and begin the search from the current cursor position.

How can I do this in Obsidian?
