Replace doesn't highlight match while replacing

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have text with duplicate words
  2. Ctrl+H to start replacing
  3. Type in match and replacement words
  4. Click replace

Expected result

Every occurence after the first match/replace to get highlighted whenever Obsidian goes to the next match.

Actual result

Only the first match gets highlighted.

Additional information

First screenshot shows the match highlighted. The second screenshot shows the ‘lorem’ in the paragraph after the first one does not get highlighted once replace has been pressed in the first screenshot.

1.4.9 was just released for insiders. Worth updating?

Just did. Still there (tested with sandbox).

Is this specific to the current insider build?

I don’t know? I only have the insider build installed at the moment. I suspect it’s probably there in the public version as well (based on the fact that I do not even see CSS spans in the text block with the next match).

Adjusted. It’s a habit from dealing with many projects to help in categorising…

Confirmed on Mac in sandbox vault and on iOS in restricted mode after restart.

This behavior has existed for a while — I’m surprised there wasn’t already a bug report. It makes replacements very tricky.

Apparently it was fixed once long ago, tho maybe something else is behind the current bug. Replace button moves to the next instance but doesn't highlight it
