Repeating Notes

What I’m trying to do

I want to create a recurring note for use as recurring tasks, using the properties to store status, due date etc. For Example, a note to remind me to mow my garden each fortnight.

Things I have tried

I tried the tasks plugin, but it doesn’t seem to give a note per task. I want to follow this approach, rather than having multiple tasks in one note.

I tried the repeater plugin, but I would tick the status off when done and these would then remained ticked off.

Can you explain this further? You want to preserve property values when creating the note from template i.e. you don’t want to use the same template again which would use default property values? This can be done using Templater but I will first wait you to confirm your issue.

Thanks for the reply!

That’s right, but as far as I can figure, Templater still requires manual creation of the note. I want it to be automatically created on a schedule. Do you know if this is possible?

No. Automatically scheduled actions is a topic not directly related to using Obsidian (and the topic cannot be discussed here in great detail). You can instruct Obsidian to run commands using Advanced URI and then schedule shell commands using some system tool such as Cron/Crontab (linux/mac).

Perfect thanks. Wasn’t sure if I was missing an option in an addin. Will look into that. Appreciate the help!
