Another workaround is to pause and unpause Sync.
I mostly avoid this issue by watching the Sync status icon when I start and stop using the app. On mobile the icon is hidden in the sidebar, so I use a CSS snippet to make it always visible (the snippet is available in this feature request: [Mobile] Make Sync icon always visible).
