Quick switcher: Reuse opened tab instead of creating tab duplicate

Scenario:
I have two tabs opened in the same group, which show file “A” and “B”. Im currently viewing file “A”. Now Im telling the quick switcher to open file “B”.

Current behaviour of the quick switcher:
File “B” is opened in a new tab. I have three tabs, two of which show file “B”.

Wanted behaviour (like in VSCode):
Im redirected to the already open tab that shows File “B”. I have the same two tabs as before. Note that tab duplicates are allowed across groups.

Best thing would be to have both behaviours accessible via different shortcuts.

IDE style navigation (tab reuse on link opening, tab management, switch to already open note)

MOD-EDIT: This is a reorganized FR Currently, Obsidian uses a Browser-style navigation system. You click on link, it opens it in that tab. An alternative approach is to follow IDEs (Integrated develop environment/Code Editors). IDEs generally don’t navigate within a tab. You click on a link and it either: Moves the focus to a tab where the target was already opened or A new tab with the target is opened. IDEs navigate in the current tab only if the target of the link is in current tab …
