Questions on Properties Obsidian Roadmap

On the Obsidian roadmap, I see y’all working on a New editor for file properties with support for internal links, stored in YAML. Is this intended to work a bit like Metadata Menu’s/Notion’s metadata fields? By adding support for internal links in YAML, is this also intended to help phase out Dataview’s inline fields::?

I’m thinking of refactoring my Obsidian note metadata in the near future, so I would like to know about how YAML metadata might change later.

The team doesn’t tend to announce new features beforehand (other than “this will be fixed in 1.3.x”, etc). I’d keep any eye on the insider Discord channel or the change log. And yes, I’d hold off on any refactoring for a bit.
