Instead of showing nothing in the preview, the transclusion box should show up saying that the note you’re transcluding is not yet created and you can click it to create it.

Took me awhile to figure out what you meant by this. But I understand that if you embed![[This Note]] doesn’t exist, then nothing shows up in preview.
If you don’t mind, I’m going to revise your topic title for clarity.
