Not my handiwork, but it appears Marijn Bent has made a Community Plugin for printing available, which is a very sought-after feature.
Has anyone else downloaded and tried this plugin? It does not appear to be heavily-trafficked.

Just installed it - excellent!
I tested and it handles wide tables better. You also get separate fonts used for printing although you need to use CSS to customize basically everything. If used with CSS the plugin has great value. Without CSS you could use Google Docs to import markdown and then inspect the desired pagination etc. Personally when I print physical documents I want to know how many pages I get etc.
In addition tags and callouts look bad and equations don’t work at all.
